Xi’an Software Park, established in December 1998, is the professional science park in Xi’an to develop software and IT service. The Park has been appraised as a software industry base under the National Torch Program, national software industry base, national software export base, city demonstrational area of national service outsourcing base and it is one of the four parks with all the titles above in China currently. 90% of enterprises engaging in software and IT service in Xi’an are located in Xi’an Software Park. The annual industrial growth rate of the Park is up to 30%. Now there are more than 870 companies located in the Park, and the number of employees has reached 80,000. The sales revenue has reached 32 billion RMB by the end of 2009 and the export reaches 150 millionUSD.
Targeting to become a world-class and domestic leading software and ITservice base, Xi’an Software Park will try to build a world-class software R&D base, the most competitive software and IT service center in China, a distributing center of domestic application software products and the largest software and IT service talents education and training base in China.
Since the establishment in 1998, the Phase I, Phase II projects of the Park has been completed, covering an area of 310,000m2 and a building area of 400,000m2. Xi’an Software Park is now planning the construction of “Software New City”, a project covering an area of 5.7km2. After finishing the project, it is predicted that the gross revenue of the software and service outsourcing in Xi’an Software Park will amount to RMB 160 billion Yuan by 2015, that of exportation achieved US$ 800 million; and over 1000 world-famous enterprises will hold 200,000 employees.
