UCD walks and trails put on firm footing

UCD's new jogging tracks and walks

The unofficial cross country circuit around and through UCD's Belfield campus used to be known as the Ho Chi Mihn Trail. It was famous for being as close to wilderness as you could get in the (almost) heart of Dublin. Unfortunately the cross country trail was broken up and encroached over the years as UCD developed student accommodation, research institutes and other developments into the ancient farmland that constitutes UCD's Belfield campus. However a recent initiative to pave the most accessible tracks has brought the walking and jogging trails back to life, opening them up to all, not just hardy runners who are prepared to risk life and limb battling with undergrowth on the old trails.
