Accenture launch Irish analytics centre

The Irish Times report on management consulting firm Accenture announcing the creation of 100 new jobs over the next four years at a new research and innovation centre focussed on business analytics in Dublin. The new centre was welcomed by IDA Ireland whose CEO, Barry O’Leary stated that "Analytics constitutes an area of growing importance within Services and this is an important investment by a global leader in professional business services".

The UCD MSc in Business Analytics and its predecessor the Master of Management Science have provided many graduates to Accenture over  the years and the MSc in Business Analytics will be continue to meet the needs of this new centre and other Analytics initiative. The only restraint on the growth of Analytics in Ireland is the unwillingness of students to study in this field, as initiatives such as these ensure interesting employment opportunities in the sector, with a shortage of people to fill them.
