Nomology is about discovering the underlying ‘covering laws’ in general decision making. It synthesises research from management, psychology, systems, culture and other fields. Although Nomology (covering laws) has been discussed and used by researchers since the nineteenth century in many fields, especially philosophy and sociology, there has never before been a comprehensive study of it, and in particular, its practical implications for management.
This seminar is part of the UCD Conversazione and Short Talk Series 2008 on the topic of Cultures of Science and Technology.
