Anthony Elliott (Professor of Sociology, Flinders University and Visiting Professor, UCD School of Sociology) and John Urry (Distinguished Professor of Sociology, Lancaster University, with Tom Inglis (Professor of Sociology, UCD) as discussant, will reflect on the analysis of various aspects of mobile social life: networks, new digital technologies, consumerism, the lifestyles of globals, and intimate relationships-at-a distance, and examine the possibilities of new concepts such as miniaturised mobilities, affect storage, network capital, meetingness, portable personhood.
