UKAIS conference is the premiere academic event in the Information Systems calendar within the UK and attracts leading academics and researchers from the UK and overseas. Despite over 20 years of work and research in IS, there still seems to be a lot of confusion as to the role of IS within the organisation and whether the two should be seen so separately. Should we be talking about IS strategy as separate from organisational strategy? How have organisations changed, what are people's expectations and lifestyles, and how has IS enabled more integrated thinking about IS as an enabler of change.
In the 70's we had the organisation man, and in the 21st century we have the networked person! What are the implications for IS as a discipline, and the view of integrated IS in organisations, and where are we going to take this set of ideas next?
