The next in our Software@ talks on 'how we build software’.

Our speakers are Paul Watson, Product Development Consultant and previously CTO at Storyful, and Dermot Casey, Venture Leader at NDRC and previously CTO & COO at Storyful. Storyful is a media fact check and curation service for video, breaking news, and social media coverage. Storyful, an Irish startup, was acquired in Dec 2013 by News Corporation. The company continues to innovate and expand, recently partnering with Slack to use the Slack messaging platform for media delivery.

About the Software@ seminar series:

We invite speakers from software groups based in Ireland talking about their history, context, practices and approaches to the design, management and organisation of software development in their company. We cover topics like software methodology, technology stack, issue tracking, software architecture and design, deployment, code reviews, testing, etc.

The talks should be of interest to anyone who wants to find out more about current practice in software management and development.

Space is limited, so please email Allen Higgins or Mel Ó Cinnéide if you’re planning to attend.

Hosted by:

  • Mel Ó Cinnéide, School of Computer Science and Informatics, UCD.
  • Allen Higgins, College of Business, UCD.

These are not company presentations as such, but the companies presenting are very keen to hear from students who are interested in a career with them.
