Waves of Globalization
Giddens, Bauman, Castells and others forayed into globalization’s impact on people and their interactions, and their theories continue to inspire organizational scholars in their quest to uncover the dynamics and undercurrents of the third wave. They argue that globalization reveals itself in how organizing happens today, be it in leadership, innovation, global teams, born global ventures, business ethics, or new organizational designs. This is, in our opinion, why we need to continue to study globalization in its organizational aspects and implications.::

What is EGOS?
(source: preamble to the EGOS financial statement 2010)
EGOS is a scholarly association which aims to further the theoretical and/or empirical advance- ment of knowledge about organizations, organizing and the contexts in which organizations oper- ate. It has an associated journal, Organization Studies, and holds an annual conference in July.
EGOS has its identity and its intellectual roots in the social sciences. It encourages an analytical and theoretical approach toward organization. EGOS embraces diversity of all kinds including a pluralistic approach to understanding organization from the perspectives of the social sciences (such as sociology, social history, political science, psychology and anthropology) as well as the humanities (such as philosophy, discourse analysis, literary criticism and rhetoric).
EGOS emphasises broad themes as well as topic-centered research. The Association provides a forum for identifying and discussing key issues in organizational theory and practice. Critical re- flection on the most recent ideas and theoretical approaches is at the core of the Association’s acti- vities. Moreover, EGOS offers a stimulating intellectual environment for younger scholars, running well-attended PhD and Post-Doctoral Workshops at the beginning of the annual conference.
